Welcome to Vietnamese Colour
Artboard 26@2x
Vietnamese food is one of the most varied and seductive on the planet – a delicious mix of the food of its colonial visitors and age-old native flavours and techniques. Many forces of climate, trade, history and immigration have influenced Vietnamese cuisine.

My homeland – My childhood – Vietnamese Cuisine

Bac Ninh - My homeland, where I was born, where I spent my unforgettable childhood in the country of untold beauty.

Bac Ninh province is situated in a Northern Vietnam which is nestled in a hilly area enriched by the magnificent culture of the rhythmical Cau River region that is home to the melodious lyric Quan Ho folk rhythms. Quan Họ was recognised an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2009.

When I grew up, I followed generations of the energetic boys in the village to start a career in the bustling city of Hanoi. Eventually, I found a job at a local restaurant and it was here that I developed my love and passion for Vietnamese cuisine.

For 30 years, I am still truly inspired to this day by the art of cooking and food preparation from my homeland and I have found the passion with cuisine remains inseparable in my blood. I have experienced many diverse kitchens, hotels, and restaurants in many countries with distinctive styles of food: Asian, European, American and Australian but by far, I still find the most impressive foods to me are the Vietnamese dishes which are blended with extraordinary love, flavours and style that are unique to Vietnam.

My lifelong dream was to open my own Vietnamese restaurant in my new homeland of Australia. It is my second dream to introduce the Vietnamese culture, its people to Australia and most importantly the culinary delights of its many provinces by using traditional recipes, herbs and spices which I so lovingly prepare every day.
My dreams and aspirations have finally come true.

After nearly 3 years of careful planning, extensive preparations and passion, I will now open the Sac Mau Viet (Vietnam Colour Restaurant) under Vietnamese Colour Pty Ltd located at Stockland Shopping centre, Townsville, Queensland.

It is envisaged the Vietnam Colour Restaurant opens in late March 2018.
